Fall Color

Perhaps because the hickory trees are so drab throughout Autumn, perhaps because they are one of the first blooms of Spring . . . the Service Berry trees in the northeast corner of the backyard number among my favorites in the garden.

Although this year their color was a dull orange, the drought seems to have suppressed apple scab - which results in leaves being lost before they can put on a show.

This and That

Sharon and Arianna showing off their key lime pie . . .

And then on to a more demanding task: hitting up friends and family for the St. Catherine of Siena School 2012 magazine / cookie dough (!) sale . . .

Arianna Cooks Breakfast . . . For Herself

A bit of a surprise upon my arrival home from Mass: Arianna cooked herself eggs for breakfast. A first!

I wonder  . . . if newspapers are around in 10 years, will news replace the funnies with breakfast?
